Gesa Stadium Scoreboard Worn out in Dust Devils Win

The Tri-City Dust Devils scored runs in bunches en route to a 15-8 win against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (18-15) outlasted the Volcanoes (18-15) in what turned out to be the highest scoring game of the series thus far.

Carlos Belen had two home runs Tuesday night, making it three in the past two games for him. Ty France had a two-run double for Tri-City, while Rod Boykin had an RBI triple and a two run single on the night. Mitch Morales had another good night at the plate with three hits, as did Kodie Tidwell. Mason Smith had a solo home run and Jose Carlos Urena and A.J. Kennedy added to the hitting party for the Dust Devils with a two-run double apiece in the contest. Every Dust Devil in the starting lineup had at least one hit.

Steven Duggar had three hits for the Volcanoes. Chris Shaw had three RBIs and Miguel Gomez had two RBIs. Jose Vizcaino Jr. added to the offensive output with a solo home run.

Tri-City starting pitcher Angel Mejia pitched three and one third innings and gave up seven runs on nine hits while striking out three batters and walking one. Luis Hernandez (1-3) got his first win of the season in relief. Hernandez pitched two innings, striking out one batter while only giving up one hit.

Starting pitcher Nolan Riggs pitched four innings for Salem-Keizer. Riggs struck out four and gave up five runs on six hits. Charles Owen (0-1) received the loss in his first appearance for Salem-Keizer this season. Owen pitched one and one third innings while giving up six runs.

The Dust Devils will play the final game of their five game series against the Volcanoes tomorrow night at Gesa Stadium. It will be Ladies Night presented by Pink Pearl where all ladies will be able to enjoy happy hour from 6:15 p.m - 7:15 p.m. and also a fashion show. Travis Radke (2-2) will be on the mound for the Dust Devils, while Andrew Leenhouts (4-1) will start the game for the Volcanoes.
