Rock Cats Lose to B-Mets 4-1

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats lost to the Binghamton Mets 4-1 Tuesday night at New Britain Stadium. It was the fifth straight win for the B-Mets who have held the Rock Cats to three runs in the first two games of the series. Gabriel Ynoa earned the win in seven solid innings defeating Matt Flemer who fell to 4-7. The Rock Cats have lost 3-in-a-row and try to avoid a series sweep on Wednesday afternoon (12:05 PM).

The B-Mets jumped on Rock Cats starting pitcher Matt Flemer with three runs in the first inning with four hits and took advantage of a fielding error. Greenwich native and former UConn star L.J. Mazzilli ripped a double and then scored on a hard single for former Rock Cats star Brock Peterson. Mets prospect Brandon Nimmo followed with an RBI triple and eventually scored on a fielding error by SS Zach Osborne.

New Britain scored its only run on a run scoring single by CF David Dahl in the 3rd inning, his 17th RBI of the season to make it 3-1. The B-Mets added a marker in the 4th and never looked back. Binghamton pitching struck out the final six batters of the game.

The Rock Cats wrap up the 3-game series against the B-Mets Wednesday afternoon at 12:05 PM. LHP Ryan Carpenter will start for the Rock Cats while RHP Michael Fulmer will counter for Binghamton.
