LHP Jeffry Antigua Rejoins Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (July 21, 2015) - The Chicago Cubs today promoted left-handed pitcher Jeffry Antigua to Iowa from Double-A Tennessee. It will be the fourth stint for Antigua with the I-Cubs this season.
Antigua, 25, is 1-1 with a 3.45 ERA (12ER/31.1IP) and 15 strikeouts in eight games, including five starts, with Iowa this season.
The left-hander is 3-3 with a 3.55 ERA (20ER/50.2IP) in 12 games, including eight starts, with the Smokies this season.
Overall, Antigua has appeared in 37 games, including five starts, with Iowa since 2013. He is a combined 4-3 with a 4.50 ERA (47ER/94.0IP) and 60 strikeouts over three seasons with the I-Cubs.
Antigua was signed by Cubs as a non-drafted free agent in 2006 out of the Dominican Republic, and has been pitching in the U.S. for Cubs affiliates since 2008.
With these moves, Iowa's active roster is full at 25 players plus three players on the disabled list and one player on a major league rehab assignment.
