Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO - July 20, 2015 - Orlando City SC youngsters Tyler Turner and Harrison Heath have been selected to participate in the 2015 AT&T All-Star Game festivities after being named to the 2015 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game by U.S. Men's National Team legend Landon Donovan the Club announced today.
Set to take place on Tuesday, July 28, at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, the Homegrown Game will showcase some of MLS' rising stars taking on Club America's U-20 team. Kick-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET.
"I'd just like to say thanks to all my teammates and coaches that help make me a better player every day," said defender Tyler Turner. "This is an achievement that I'm very glad to receive. Hopefully I can go out there, enjoy the game, and just have fun playing with the homegrowns throughout the league."
"I'm obviously delighted as this is a really nice honor," said midfielder Harrison Heath. "Unfortunately, I received an injury not too long ago, so I won't be able to make it. But, I just wanted to say thank you to Landon Donovan and everybody who played a part in my invitation, and sorry I can't be there."
Despite being 19-years-old, both Heath and Turner have seen action in City's inaugural MLS campaign, starting two games each in seven combined appearances.
Harrison Heath signed with the Lions in the latter portion of the 2014 USL season after playing two seasons with the Norwich City FC Academy.
Heath made his first start for City this year against D.C. United, playing in the crucial defensive midfield role. After suffering an injury in a recent international friendly against English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, the Englishman will be unavailable to play in the Homegrown Game.
Turner, who was a regular starter during Orlando's final USL season, has logged 257 minutes in MLS for City, earning a spot in the starting 11 against the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC.
The right-back, who has over 20 caps at the international level with the U.S. U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 Men's National Teams, joined Orlando City in 2014 as the Club's fourth MLS signing.
