Dust Devils Win in Walk off Fashion

The Tri-City Dust Devils came up clutch as Austin Allen hit a walk off two-out two-RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to win the game 5-4 over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Sunday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (17-14) were facing a two run deficit in the inning against the Volcanoes (17-14) and scored three runs in the inning to get the win.
Jose Carlos Urena helped in the winning effort with two hits and an RBI on the night for the Dust Devils.
Shilo McCall had a double and a triple and Miguel Gomez added to the offensive output with two hits for Salem-Keizer.
Tri-City starting pitcher Walker Lockett pitched deep into the game for Tri-City. Lockett pitched six and one third innings, striking out six batters while giving up four runs, two of which were earned, on four hits. Phil Maton was solid in relief of Lockett, pitching one and two thirds innings, striking out four and giving up just one hit. Corey Kimber (2-0) got the win for the Dust Devils, pitching one inning, striking out two and giving up just one hit.
Starting pitcher Andrew Suarez had a short outing for Salem-Keizer. Suarez pitched two and two thirds innings, striking out one batter, while giving up one run on three hits. Luis Pino had the longest outing in relief of Suarez. Pino pitched three and one third innings, striking out two batters, walking three and giving up one run on two hits. Caleb Smith (0-1) received the loss for the Volcanoes, pitching one and one third innings and giving up three runs.
The Dust Devils will play the third game of their five game series against the Volcanoes tomorrow night at Gesa Stadium. It will be Coca-Cola Monday where fans can enjoy 22 oz. Coca-Cola products for $1 all night long. Jose Castillo will be on the mound for the Dust Devils while Logan Webb will toe the rubber for the Volcanoes.
