Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that Head Coach Greg Ireland has resigned to pursue a professional coaching opportunity. Ireland informed Attack General Manager Dale DeGray of his decision on Saturday.

"We're losing a good coach, a good friend and a good person in Greg Ireland.", stated Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. "Greg has done a wonderful job for us the last four season and we cannot thank him enough. We wish Greg, his wife Erin and two boys Jake and Brennan the absolute best in their new venture."

Ireland was hired by the Attack in 2011 and while serving as the Attack's Head Coach, compiled a 142-100-30 record to go along with four straight 30-win seasons. Ireland's 142 wins as Head Coach puts him 2nd in Franchise history.

"Owen Sound is a terrific place.", stated Ireland. "I'll miss working with everyone in the Attack organization, from the Ownership Group, right through to all of the people who worked or volunteered on game nights. I can't thank the people enough."

Ireland's Attack teams made the playoffs in each of his years as Head Coach and were applauded for their work ethic, tenacity and physical style of play.

Greg Ireland's new Head Coaching job will be confirmed via that club in the coming days.

Ireland's departure leaves General Manager Dale DeGray to fill his entire coaching staff prior to Training Camp, which begins Monday, August 31st at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
