West Virginia Blanks Legends 4-0; Miller 1-For-4 in Debut

West Virginia pitchers John Sever, Julio Vivas and Dovydas Neverauskas teamed up for a 4-0 shutout of the Lexington Legends Sunday afternoon in Charleston.

The Power took the lead with a run in the bottom of the second inning when Pablo Reyes singled, stole second and scored on a single by Chase Simpson.

West Virginia added two runs in the third. With one out, Elvis Escobar singled, moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on a single by Jordan Luplow. After Luplow stole second, Connor Joe walked to load the bases, and Michael Suchy followed with a two-run double, giving the Power a 3-0 lead.

A triple by Jeff Roy and a single by Escobar in the fourth gave West Virginia its final run.

Lexington native Anderson Miller, who joined the Legends Saturday, made his debut in Sunday's game. He started in right field, batted third, and had one hit, a single, in four at bats.

Vivas (1-1), relieved Sever at the start of the fifth inning and pitched the fifth, sixth and seventh to get the win. Neverauskas worked the final two innings. Sever allowed four hits, Vivas two and Neverauskas one. The three issued no walks, and combined for nine strikeouts, five by Sever and three by Vivas.

Legends starter Scott Blewett (2-3) took the loss.

The Power have won the first three games of the series, which concludes Monday night. Game time is
