Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS (July 17, 2015) - In front of 11,612 fans, the Frisco RoughRiders claimed a ten-inning, walk-off 6-5 victory over Corpus Christi on Friday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The eighth-largest home crowd in franchise history witnessed the Riders win on an error by Hooks first baseman Conrad Gregor, one of seven defensive miscues in the contest.

The massive crowd continued a trend of tremendous support by RoughRiders fans in 2015. Six of the eight biggest attendances in team history have come this season. Friday's game was not the cleanest in club history, but it was the team's third straight win and the ninth in the last 11 games.

Tied 6-6 entering the bottom of the tenth, with runners on first and second, Luis Mendez hit a groundball to the first baseman Gregor, who proceeded to throw errantly to second, allowing Trever Adams to score the winning run.

Frisco (13-7, 42-48) scored first when Preston Beck delivered a RBI-single to score Adams, who led off the frame with a walk. The Riders would strand the bases loaded, but led 1-0.

The Hooks (10-11, 58-33) responded in the top of the third when Jon Kemmer sent a bloop single to left that scored Brett Phillips and tied the game at one.

The Riders appeared to break the game open in the bottom of the third. Adams doubled off of the left field wall to score Alex Burg and break the tie. Zach Cone's single plated a run and Nick Williams blasted a double to the gap in right to score two and put the Riders ahead, 6-1.

However, Corpus Christi responded with a five-run inning of their own in the top of the fifth. Gregor knocked a three-run homer to cut the deficit to one and a throwing error charged to Drew Robinson allowed Jio Mier to score from third and once again tie the game.

Frisco broke the tie in the tenth for their thirteenth win in the second half. David Martinez(2-4) pitched two innings of one-hit ball and Reymin Guduan (1-2) dropped his second decision as he allowed an unearned run in the tenth.

The Frisco RoughRiders go for the four-game sweep Saturday night behind LHP Frank Lopez. The Hooks send RHP Michael Feliz to the mound for the 7:05 p.m. start. Saturday marks a special tribute to the film, Back to the Future, as the team will celebrate the iconic movie's 30th anniversary.
