PIFL Names Most Valuable Player

July 17, 2015 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) News Release


NASHVILLE, TN (July 17, 2015) - Voted upon by opposing coaches and league officials, the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) is proud to announce the 2015 Most Valuable Player winner.

Most Valuable Player of the Year: WR Terrence Ebagua (Lions)

For the first time in league history, the PIFL's Most Valuable Player resides in Columbus with WR Terrence Ebagua (6'7 220, Florida State) earning the 2015 award. Ebagua joins Alabama's McSwain as the only wide receivers to earn the League's top individual honor.

Ebagua led the Lions to an 8-3 record during the regular season and the league's number one seed entering the playoffs. During the regular season Terrence scored PIFL-high 156 points by hauling in a league-high 26 touchdowns on 71 receptions. His 1,070 receiving yards ranked third among all receivers while his 15.1 yards per catch rated him number among receivers who grabbed 40 or more receptions.

Scoring touchdowns in all eleven of the Lions regular season games, Ebagua had multiple touchdown performances in nine of those games including two games where he reached the end- zone four times. On voting conducted by opposing coaches and league officials for the PIFL's All-PIFL sqauds, he was one of the two top vote getters earning 1st place votes on all eligible ballots placing him on the All-PIFL 1st Team.

Saving his best for last, during the Lions championship run he combing to tow in 12 receptions for 184 yards and seven TD grabs with five of those coming their opening round 69-41 victory over Lehigh Valley setting a PIFL playoff single-game record. Columbus went on to win their first championship since 2010.
