Rockford Aviators News Release

SCHAUMBURG, Illinois - The Frontier League celebrated its best and brightest stars Wednesday night at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium with its annual All-Star Game, and the formidable contingent representing the Aviators was front and center. Rockford center fielder Michael Hur was named the game's MVP as he and 6 other Aviators helped the James Frisbie-coached West Division squad to a 4-2 win.

Hur, a UC-Riverside alum who has played in Rockford since 2011 and who participated in the league's home run derby on Tuesday evening, racked up 2 doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored in the game. This year was his first all-star selection, and he made the most of the opportunity, receiving the MVP award from Commissioner Bill Lee on the field immediately following the game.

Aviator arms also starred in the contest. Tony Rizzotti started the game for the West and eventually gave way to Kyle Brueggemann, Kyle Hassna, and Matt Frahm. The foursome combined for four innings pitched and did not surrender an earned run. Brueggemann earned the victory by pitching a scoreless 3rd.

Devon Rodriguez and Dusty Robinson also got in on the action for the West squad at first base and in the outfield respectively. Robinson doubled in his only at bat. He leads the league in doubles this season.

James Frisbie, who was assisted by John Foster and Jeff Brooks as well as members of the Normal and Schaumburg staffs, earned his first all-star victory as a Frontier League manager.

The Aviators currently lead the West with 30 win and return to action Friday with a doubleheader against the Rascals that will start at 4:05 pm. Tickets for the games at Aviators Stadium are still available and can be purchased by calling 815-885-BALL.
