Sudbury Wolves News Release

The Sudbury Wolves continue to receive commitments from their top prospects from the 2015 OHL Priority Selection with the announcement that 5th round selection Ben Garagan has made a commitment to the Sudbury Wolves organization. Garagan, 16, is 5'10", 165 lbs. He was selected 85th overall in the OHL Priority Selection by Sudbury. Garagan is a native of North Bay, Ontario and played for the North York Rangers last season.

Garagan's decision marks the fifth commitment made to the Sudbury Wolves from the 2015 Priority Selection. The Wolves also received commitments from 1st round selection David Levin as well as 2nd round selections: Shane Bulitka, Macauley Carson and Owen Lane. The Wolves have added significant offensive skill to their organization with the commitments made by these five young forwards.

Garagan, 16, led his North York Rangers team in scoring with 26 goals, 18 assists for 44 points in 45 games last season. Garagan was a stand-out at the Wolves' Rookie Camp in April as well as at the OHL Gold Cup tournament in May.

"Ben had an outstanding season last year and proved that he can score goals" notes Wolves' GM Blaine Smith. "He has excellent speed and he is very quick. We are very pleased that Ben has decided to make the Sudbury Wolves his #1 priority for his hockey and educational progression." Garagan is one of three players invited to the Wolves' main camp from the North Bay area. Others include 20-year-old veteran Danny Desrochers and 18 year-old forward Michael Silveri.

Garagan will be one of a number of young prospects that will be looking to secure a roster spot when the Sudbury Wolves open main camp on September 3rd at the Sudbury Arena.
