Aces Walk Off Over Rainiers, 4-3

RENO, Nev. - A walk-off infield single in the ninth inning gave the Reno Aces a 4-3 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers on Friday night at Aces Ballpark.

Outfielder James Jones (2x4) recorded the Rainiers only multi-hit performance, while adding a pair of runs scored and swiping one stolen base - Jones now has 21 stolen bases this year, tied for the third best mark in the league.

Infielder Zach Shank blasted his first career Triple-A home run in the top of the seventh inning to pull the Rainiers even with Reno at 3-3. Through his first 20 Triple-A games, Shank has hit .304 (21x69) with six extra base hits and six RBI.

Tacoma starting pitcher Andrew Kittredge, making just the fourth start of his career, worked 5.0 innings and allowed three runs on five hits.

Stefen Romero and Steve Baron added stolen bases of their own to give the Rainiers three in the contest. Tacoma's 108 stolen bases are the top mark in the league.

Tyler Olson relieved Kittredge and posted 2.0 scoreless innings, holding the Aces to just one hit and striking out four. Edgar Olmos posted a scoreless eighth inning, but allowed a one-out double to come around and score for the winning run in the ninth - he was tagged with his first loss of the year.

Right-hander Forrest Snow (7-5, 2.55) takes the mound for Tacoma (44-45) as they continue their series with Reno (42-47) tomorrow, July 11. The Aces will hand the ball to righty Edgar Garcia (2-1, 4.09). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
