MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that LHP Chris Kirsh and RHP Brad Schreiber have been promoted to the Biscuits from A+ Charlotte. In a corresponding move, RHP Jared Mortensen has been placed on the temporary inactive list while he competes with Team Canada in the Pan-Am Games.
Kirsh, 23, made 12 starts and four relief appearances for the Stone Crabs. He went 5-4 with a 2.98 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. The lefty was drafted in the 14th round out of Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania.
Schreiber, 24, has been dominant in the Stone Crabs' bullpen with 18 saves and a 1.83 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP. The right-hander was drafted twice but signed with the Rays as a non-drafted free agent in 2012 out of Purdue.
The Biscuits active-roster is at the league max of 25.
