D.C. United News Release

Washington, D.C. (July 7, 2015) - The D.C. United Academy concluded its 2014-15 season in Westfield, Ind., with the Under-18 team competing in the playoff competition and the Under-16 and Under-14 teams participating in a showcase event. All of the Academy groups played in three matches at the Grand Park Sports Campus against other U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams from across North America.

The U-18 team put together a string of performances to go unbeaten in the group stage of the playoffs. The Black-and-Red tied all three games, including a 1-1 draw with fellow MLS academy side Vancouver. Despite going unbeaten, the U-18 team did not advance out of the group, with Shattuck-Saint Mary's of Minnesota proceeding on to the quarterfinals based on overall points. The United U-18s ended the season with an 18-6-5 record, scoring 86 goals and conceding 43.

D.C. United's Under-15 team also competed in postseason playoffs. After defeating Bethesda-Olney in the quarterfinals, 3-1, the U-15s fell to the Player's Development Academy (PDA), 1-0, in the semifinal.
