AquaSox Lose Pitchers' Duel, 2-1

July 7, 2015 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Everett AquaSox News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - AquaSox starting pitcher Lane Ratliff went 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts, but was the hard luck loser in a 2-1 loss to the Hillsboro Hops on Monday, July 6, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Ratliff only allowed two hits and gave up one walk in the outing.

Joe Pistorese was also nearly flawless in relief for the Frogs, going 2 1/3 innings with a pair of strikeouts and one earned run.

Logan Taylor scored the only run for Everett (11-8) on a no-doubt home run in the ninth inning that made it 2-1.

The AquaSox put six hits on the board and stole three bases, but couldn't get a second run across home plate. Drew Jackson was one of the three Everett players to swipe a bag, his league-leading 10th stolen base.

Cody Reed pitched six innings and struck out 10 for Hillsboro (11-8), and Trevor Mitsui was 2 for 4 with a home run, double and two RBI.

Come out on Tuesday, July 7, as the AquaSox look for their first win in the five-game series at 7:05 p.m. Stop by Carl's Jr. on your way to the ballpark to get a 2-for-1 coupon for Upper Box Tickets, or buy tickets ahead of time at your convenience online at aquasox.com/tickets or at the front office at 3802 Broadway in Everett.
