MoonDogs Take it to Huskies 6-2

The Duluth Huskies (2-4) fell short as the MoonDogs outscored the home team 6-2 to sweep the two-game series.

The teams traded runs through the first four innings to tie the game at 2. Mankato scored their first run in the top half of the second inning when Kyle Weston scored on a Kaden Moore single. Duluth would tie the game back up in their half of the third inning as Alex Greene knocked in Jean Figueroa, his 23rd RBI of the season. The teams would trade runs in the 4th inning and the game would stay tied through the 5th inning.

The MoonDogs would take the lead for good in the 6th inning after both Eric Schenck-Joblinske and Jack Flansburg crossed the plate. Huskies starting pitcher Mitch Bauer would end his night after 5.1 innings of work with five hits and three runs against him and the eventual loss. MoonDogs starting pitcher Brett Clark would toss 7 innings while collecting five strikeouts and the win.

The Huskies are back in action tomorrow at Wade Stadium at 6:35 against the Waterloo Bucks.
