Cannons Put on a Show in Denver

Denver, CO (July 4, 2015) -The Boston Cannons (7-4) put on a show against the Denver Outlaws (5-6) Saturday Night in front of a league record crowd at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The Cannons came away with an impressive 22-9 victory over the reigning MLL champs.

This contest marked the 18th all-time regular season meeting between the Cannons and Outlaws, with Boston now leading the series 11-7. The Cannons are the only team to have a winning record against Denver in the Mile High City. The Outlaws are now 1-7 against the Cannons at home, with four of those losses coming in the Mile High Fourth of July game.

Ryan Tucker lifted the Boston Cannons to a 22-9 victory with three two-point goals against the Denver Outlaws. Davey Emala added 6 points of his own for the double hattrick. Will Manny also had an impressive night scoring a hat-trick. Manny got on the score sheet 7:01 into the 1st quarter. Then added goal at 3:11 into the 2nd and at 4:19 into the 3rd.

The Outlaws took a 3-0 lead before the Cannons went on an eight-point run to close out the first quarter. The Cannons were putting on an offensive show, ripping 43 shots and forcing Denver to make 8 saves, and a goalie change. John Rodriguez made on stop while Jesse Schwartzman made seven.

After Boston's eight-point run in the first quarter, the Cannons continued to carry the momentum. Boston led 13-7 at the half and outscored Denver 5-0 in the third quarter. The Cannons closed out their win with a 4-2 fourth quarter, after holding the Outlaws scoreless for 25:11, to seal their 22-9 victory.

Boston additionally got points from Scott Ratliff, who registered one goal and two assists, Brent Adams, who added two goals and one assist, Wells Stanwick, who registered two goals and one assist and Josh Hawkins, who put up one goal and one assist.

Additionally, other players who recorded assists for Boston were Rob Emery, John Glesener and Kevin Buchanan, who contributed one apiece.

Jordan Burke took the win and made 16 saves before being replaced by Adam Ghitelman.

Game Notes:

- Boston's four two-point goals tie the most the Outlaws have ever given up

- Boston's 22 points are the fourth most by an opponent in Outlaws history.

- The Cannon's 13-point victory is the largest win margin vs. the Outlaws in Denver's history.

The Cannons will return to Gillette Stadium on Saturday, July 11th at 6:00 pm when they play the Ohio Machine in their regular season finale at home.
