Epic Seventh-Inning Rally Gives Indians Win

Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Indians had no runs and five errors with a 6-0 deficit staring the team down in the seventh inning.
Then Dylan Moore and Sherman Lacrus doubled and singled, respectively. Diego Cedeno singled home Moore, and Doug Votolato loaded the bases with his own knock. Then it was Dean Long's bases-clearing triple to bring Spokane within two. And finally, extending his hitting streak to 15 games in front of a sold out crowd of 7,031 fans at Avista Stadium on our country's Independence Day, Ledarius Clark hammered a line drive over the left field fence to bring the Indians even with the Boise Hawks. Clark raised his average to a league-leading .394.
The final tally, thanks to that epic seventh-inning rally, was 8-7 as the Indians topped the Hawks on 4th of July Fireworks Night presented by NAPA Auto Parts, KISS 98.1 and 590 KQNT.
Cedeno singled home Moore in the eighth inning once again to take the lead, 7-6, but a Boise run in the ninth tied up the ballgame heading into the bottom of the inning. With the bases loaded, and two outs, Moore hit a challenging groundout into the infield, bringing home pinch runner Darius Day for the game-winning, walk-off run.
Cody Palmquist had a solid showing, allowing only one earned run in five innings of work to lower his ERA to 1.93. However, a flurry of errors - five to be exact - plated five unearned runs with the Missouri product on the bump.
Adam Choplick, the 6-foot-8 giant of a pitcher, relieved in the fifth inning and quickly regained control of a fleeting game. With four strikeouts and only two hits allowed in 2.1 innings of work, Choplick set the table for the seventh-inning, six-run rally.
Dario Beltre pitched one scoreless inning, and Luis Parra earned his third win of the season after missing out on a save opportunity.
