July 4, 2015 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs dropped a tough contest to the Wilmington Sharks 4-2 Saturday night at Buck Hardee Field.

The game was a pitcher's duel through the first three innings, with Trey Hayes (Sr./Presbyterian) of the SwampDogs and John Parke of the Sharks matching zeroes.

The Sharks got on the board in the fourth with a run, but the SwampDogs answered back with two runs in the top of the fifth, after Jimmy Faul (Jr./Louisville) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, then two batters later, Mike Deese (Jr./The Citadel) singled to bring home a second run.

With the SwampDogs leading 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Sharks plated two unearned runs off of Kent Williams (Soph./Indiana), and would tally an insurance run in the seventh to stretch the lead to 4-2.

The SwampDogs (13-19) enjoy a day off Sunday, before returning home on Monday, July 6th on College Rivalry Night as the SwampDogs host the Lexington County Blowfish at 7:05 pm.
