CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Cedar Rapids blanked Burlington, 4-0, in front of a season-high 5,645 fans. The Kernels recorded eight hits and allowed only one Burlington baserunner to reach third on the evening.

Zack Tillery (5-3) earned the win for Cedar Rapids on Saturday. The right-hander yielded five hits and one walk while striking out three in a season-high seven scoreless innings.

Randy LeBlanc secured the win with two scoreless innings of relief. The right-hander yielded two walks and struck out two. Edgar Corcino led the Kernels offensively with two hits.

Jeremy Rhoades (4-5) suffered the loss for Burlington (39-40, 4-6). The right-hander allowed three runs on four hits while striking out a pair in six innings.

The Kernels took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first. Tanner English was hit on the side to lead off the inning. Nick Gordon then reached on a fielder's choice for the first out of the inning. Corcino recorded the first hit of the game with a double down the right field line, giving Cedar Rapids runners on second and third. Alex Real followed Corcino with a sacrifice fly to center, bringing in Gordon from third. The sacrifice fly from Real also advanced Corcino to third. Zack Larson put the Kernels up 2-0 with a two-out RBI double down the left field line, plating Corcino from third. The RBI for Larson was his team-leading 40th of the year.

Cedar Rapids (47-33, 6-3) extended its lead to 3-0 with a run in the bottom of the fifth. Pat Kelly led off the frame with a triple to right. English followed Kelly with an RBI groundout to second, scoring Kelly from third.

The Kernels tacked on their final run of the evening with a run in the bottom of the seventh. T.J. White started the inning with a one-out triple down the right field line. Two batters later, White came in to score on a Wade Wass passed ball.

Cedar Rapids concludes the four-game series tomorrow at home. First pitch in the series finale is at 2:05 p.m. from Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium. LHP Randy Rosario (0-0, 0.00) makes his 2015 Kernels debut on the hill while RHP Jake Jewell (4-3, 3.83) counters for Burlington.

This Sunday is a Run the Bases Sunday, presented by Jimmy John's with media sponsor 104.5 KDAT, when the Kernels take on Burlington at 2:05 p.m. Fans can run the bases, play catch in the outfield and get autographs from the Kernels on the field after the game.
