They extended their lead to 7-2 before River City rallied to cut the deficit to 7-5. Travis Weaver contributed a two-RBI single in the fourth and Cuthrell added a solo homer in the fifth. Up by two, Florence got an insurance run in the seventh on a Steve Carrillo RBI single. The Florence bullpen sent out four different pitchers to shut the door. Austin Delmotte tossed two thirds of an inning and didn't allow a run. Freedom starter Coleman Stephens (3-4) went six plus innings allowing five runs, four earned, while fanning three to earn his third win of the season. Pete Levitt got the final out of the seventh inning. Ethan Gibbons shut the door in the eighth, striking out two, and Ed Kohout tossed a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his sixth save of the season.

For Starters...

Tony Vocca makes his third start of the season tonight for the Freedom and his 16th appearance overall. His most recent outing was a start against the Windy City ThunderBolts on June 28 as he went five and a third innings, giving up two runs on four hits in a 4-2 win. He walked three and struck out three as well. Vocca faced the Rascals on June 9th out of the bullpen and got the win, going an inning and a third of shutout ball, walking one and striking out two in the 11-4 victory. A native of Cottonwood, Arizona, USA, Vocca played his college ball first at Yavapai College, then the University of Utah and later for Minnesota State University-Mankato. He posted a 12-8 record and 5.21 ERA over the course of his four-year college career, also tallying 125 strikeouts in 140 innings pitched. In 2013, after his college days were over, Vocca pitched for the Prescott Montezuma Federals of the Freedom Pro Baseball League, a four-team independent league based out of Arizona. Vocca spent this past winter pitching for the Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League.

Going for the series win...
