Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Rafters will try to end a three-game slide to start the second half of the Northwoods League season when they take on the Green Bay Bullfrogs today. After finishing the first half of the season at 15-17, Wisconsin Rapids looks for its first win in the latter portion of the season in game number four.
Last night, the Rafters made a valiant comeback but could not overcome a seven-run deficit as they fell to Green Bay, 8-6 at Joannes Stadium in Green Bay, Wis. The Bullfrogs took a commanding lead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring seven runs on six walks by the Rafters. Wisconsin Rapids brought the tying run at the plate in the top of the ninth, but Bullfrog pitcher Jeremy Graf (St. Petersburg) was able to strikeout the Rafters pinch-hitter to secure the Green Bay victory.
