Victoria, TX (July 3, 2015) - The 2015 TCL First-Half Champions resumed their winning ways on Friday night in Victoria against the Generals, winning by a score of 6-0 to earn a split of the two-game series.
Texas A&M left-handed pitcher Tyler Stubblefield started the game on the mound for the Bombers and was masterful in his six innings of work. Stubblefield only allowed one hit while striking out three Generals. Kenny Saenz and Nick Jones combined for three shutout innings out of the bullpen, while Jones earned his second save of the 2015 season.
A pair of UTSA Roadrunners, Geonte Jackson and Matt Hilston, led the way offensively for the Bombers; combining for four hits, four RBI and three runs scored, highlighted by Jackson's two-run home run in the 8th inning.
The Bombers will be on the road again Saturday and Sunday, taking on the Texas Marshals for a two-game series before the All-Star break on July 6-8.
