Four BlueSox Named to All-Star Game

Butler, PA - July 3, 2015 - The Butler BlueSox will have four representatives in the 2015 Prospect League All-Star Game in David Marcus, Zach Spangler, Matt Hansen, and Alex Miklos, the League announced on Friday.
David Marcus (California University of PA) will start the game at first base for the East Division. He not only leads Butler in many offensive categories, but is close to the top League-wide in many stats. Marcus is hitting .381 (1st in the League), with 43 hits (1st), 11 doubles (2nd), home runs (1st), 19 RBIs (5th), and 27 runs created (1st).
Relief pitcher Zach Spangler (Kent State) leads the Prospect League with ten saves, just six shy of the all-time single season League record. He has been lights out with a 0.77 ERA over his 11.2 innings pitched, having surrendered just five hits and four walks. He has struck out 12.
Matt Hansen (University of Toledo) is hitting .301/.383/.330 as the BlueSox starting shortstop. He has scored 14 runs, knocked in 11, and stolen eight bases for Butler this summer. He will back up Deion Tansel, who is his teammate at University of Toledo.
This summer marks Alex Miklos's (Kent State) third with the BlueSox and his first trip to the All-Star Game. He his hitting .260/.310/.286 with seven runs, four RBIs, and six swiped bags for Butler this year.
The All-Star Game will be held in Richmond, Indiana on Wednesday, July 8 at 7:05pm. A pro scout work out, autograph session, player meet-and-greet, and home run derby will be part of a daylong celebration on Tuesday, July 7 starting at 2:30pm.
