Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 3, 2015) -- The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have promoted first baseman Alexander Simon directly to Triple-A Charlotte today to replace former Intimidator Chris Curley, who has been placed on the Charlotte Knights' Disabled List. The Intimidators roster now sits at 24 players.

Simon, 22, played 23 games with Kannapolis after the White Sox acquired him from the Tampa Bay Rays in late May for cash. He hit .293 (27-92) with four doubles, two triples, a home run, 13 RBI, and 12 runs scored with the Intimidators after opening this season with the Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs in the Florida State League.

The Intimidators wrap up this nine-game home stand tonight (Friday) against the West Virginia Power at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System with post-game fireworks presented by the City of Kannapolis. Gates open at 6 p.m. with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. and fireworks immediately following the game. For tickets and promotional information, call the F&M Bank Box Office at (704) 932-3267 or visit IntimidatorsBaseball.com.
