Homestand Preview - July 4-9
July 3, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Fisher Cats return home on Saturday July 4 to open up a six-game homestand with the New Britain Rock Cats and the Trenton Thunder. The stand features holiday-weekend fireworks on the 4th and 5th, a Jack Murphy poster giveaway on Monday, and an Old Man of the Mountain bobblehead on Tuesday.
JULY 4-6
OPPONENT - NEW BRITAIN ROCK CATS
New Britain is currently 41-37, one game out of the playoff chase and sitting in third place in the Eastern League. The Fisher Cats are 5-9 against New Britain this season.
TOP PROSPECTS
Tom Murphy (C) - Murphy, a third round pick by the Colorado Rockies in 2012, has had quite a week. Prior to being named an Eastern League All-Star, the catcher was named to Team USA's roster for the upcoming Pan American Games in Toronto. Through 68 games he has 11 home runs and 41 runs batted in. Two of his 11 home runs have come against the Fisher Cats. He is currently ranked 7th among the top Rockies' prospects by MLB.com.
Trevor Story (SS/2B) - Story would've joined Murphy in the Eastern League All-Star Game, but he'll instead be playing for the US Team at this year's Futures Game in Cincinnati during Major League Baseball's All-Star festivities. The former first-round pick is ranked 12th in the Rockies' system. He's hitting .281 with an impressive collection of extra-base hits - 20 doubles, six triples, and ten home runs.

JULY 7-9
OPPONENT - TRENTON THUNDER
The Trenton Thunder have leapfrogged into a tie for first place with the Reading FIghtin Phils with a record of 42-36. The Fisher Cats, however, have had their number this season, winning seven of their eleven meetings. They most recently split a two-game series in Trenton last weekend.
TOP PROSPECTS
Gary Sanchez (C) - Another Eastern League catcher has had quite a week. In addition to being named to the Eastern League All-Star Game, Sanchez, the Yankees' 7th-ranked prospect, will play in the Futures Game for the World Team on Sunday, July 12 in Cincinnati. The slugging backstop has smacked eight home runs while batting .253 for the first-place Thunder. He has also thrown out nearly 38% of base stealers.
Eric Jagielo (INF) - The Yankees' eight-ranked prospect is headed to Portland for this year's All-Star Game as part of a five-player Thunder contingent. He's been a solid contributor in his first season in Double-A, batting .284 with 16 doubles and nine home runs for the Thunder. He was the Yankees first round pick from Notre Dame in 2013.
