Jalen Smereck Commits to the Generals

OSHAWA, ON - The Oshawa Generals are pleased to announce that their 15th round pick of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, Jalen Smereck, has committed to the Generals.
The 6'0" Detroit, MI native was selected 299th overall by the Generals on April 6, 2013. He played for the Bloomington Thunder of the USHL in 2014-15 and tallied 18 points in 51 games.
"Jalen was a draft pick of ours a couple years ago and he has continued to develop as a player over the past couple years," says Oshawa Generals General Manager, Roger Hunt. "Mike Kelly and I watched him play for the Bloomington Thunder this past year and feel he is ready to make the jump to the OHL."
The left shooting defenceman and was selected in the first round as the 18th overall pick by the Bloomington Thunder in the 2014 USHL Phase II Draft.
Smereck will return to the GM Centre for orientation camp at the end of the summer.
