Portland Pirates News Release
Portland, ME - The Florida Panthers, NHL affiliate of the Portland Pirates, today announced the signing of forward Rob Flick to a one-year, two-way NHL contract.
"This signing adds further depth to our organization," said Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon. "Flick is a big, two-way forward who is coming off of a career-best season in Providence."
Flick, a 6-foot-2, 208 pound center from London, Ontario, had a breakout 2014-15 season with the AHL's Providence Bruins. The 24 year-old scored a career high 19 goals, along with five assists for 24 points in 65 games for the P-Bruins. Flick's previous career high was in his rookie season with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs in 2011-12 when he scored seven goals.
Entering his fifth pro season, Flick played the first season-and-a-half of his pro career in Rockford, while playing the last two-and-a-half seasons in Providence. Drafted in the Fourth Round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, Flick also played 17 games for the ECHL's Toledo Walleye during the 2011-12 season. Prior to turning pro, Flick played three seasons with the OHL's Mississauga St. Michael's Majors from 2008-11.
