Lancaster Stormers News Release

Butch Hobson, Rich Rundles and a contingent of five players have been selected to represent the Lancaster Barnstormers at the 2015 Atlantic League All-Star Game, it was announced today by league officials.

Hobson will manage the Freedom Division squad after guiding the Barnstormers to the 2015 league championship. Pitching coach Rich Rundles will join him for the festivities in Bridgeport, culminating in the game on Wednesday, July 8.

Returning to the All-Star Game for a second season is shortstop Lance Zawadzki. The slick fielding infielder is currently batting .241 with five home runs and 22 RBI.

Joining Zawadzki on the team will be outfielders Brian Cavazos-Galvez and Kevin Rivers. Cavazos-Galvez stands third in the Atlantic League with 35 RBI to along with seven home runs. The New Mexico native has played in all but one game this season for the Barnstormers, recently completing a stretch at first base.

Rivers has been the league's most productive power hitter over the past six weeks, clubbing eight home runs since May 15. The Connecticut native is batting .260 on the season and has driven home 23 runs.

Japanese submarine-style pitcher Shunsuke Watanabe and Lancaster local favorite Pete Andrelczyk are the two members of the Barnstormers' staff that have been selected to play in the contest.

The 37-year old Watanabe has developed into Lancaster's ace in the rotation, with a 4-2 record and 2.53 ERA, following a Sunday afternoon win over Camden. He has thrown six quality starts in his last seven appearances.

Andrelczyk has been a workhorse out of the Lancaster bullpen for the last two seasons. The Manheim Central alumnus set a franchise record with 70 appearances in 2014. This year, while only appearing in 23 games, the right-hander has worked 40 innings out of the pen, posting a 2.25 ERA. He has allowed only one earned run in his last 20 innings.

"I am extremely happy for each of our All-Stars," said Hobson. "These guys all work hard and take pride in the honor of being selected for this game."

The Lancaster Barnstormers are in their eleventh season as a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Home games are played at Clipper Magazine Stadium in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Please call 717.509.HITS (4487) or visit LancasterBarnstormers.com for more information.
