Bombers Add Additional Park & Ride Location

July 1, 2015 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release

WINNIPEG, MB., July 1, 2015 - In order to accommodate growing demand for Park & Ride transportation from the Southdale and St. Vital areas, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added one additional Park & Ride location. This brings the total number of Park & Rides to nine.

The new Park & Ride #9 location is at the Southdale Red River Co-op Food Store on Fermor at Lakewood Blvd, and will be in operation for tomorrow's Winnipeg Blue Bombers Home Opener with kickoff at 7:30pm.

"Our fans have embraced the Park & Rides as a way to get to Bomber games, with more people getting on board each week," said Blue Bombers President and CEO Wade Miller. "We are always working to make transportation to and from games more efficient, and that's why we have added an additional location. We anticipate this will take some of the pressure off of the very popular St. Vital Park & Ride location."

The Southdale Co-op Park & Ride #9 can accommodate up to 200 vehicles. The St. Vital #3 Park & Ride location on St. Anne's Road can accommodate up to 160 vehicles.

Fans can find all updated transportation information at bluebombers.com.

Fans should also note that seasonal lane closures throughout the city may be introduced during the season, potentially increasing travel time to Investors Group Field. Always check for current lane closure information prior to travelling to the stadium. Current information can be found at Winnipeg.ca/publicworks/laneclosures.
