(Burlington-IA)- The Burlington Bees lost their third game in a row, losing 4-2 to the Kane County Cougars on Tuesday night at Community Field.

Bees' starter Jake Jewell looked in control early, striking out the side in the second inning. Victor Reyes lined a one out single to left in the top of the third. With Reyes running, Chuck Taylor singled to center, putting runners at the corners. Ildemaro Vargas grounded out, scoring Reyes, putting the Cougars on top, 1-0.

With the bases empty and two outs, Wade Wass worked a walk and then scored from first on a Natanael Delgado triple off the wall in right center field, tying the game at one.

The game didn't stay tied for long as Ryan Hutchison gave Kane County the lead back, smacking his first home run of the season, putting the Cougars ahaead, 2-1 in the fifth inning.

After getting the lead off hitter in the top of the sixth inning, Jake Jewell hit Marty Herum and walked Michael Perez. Michael Bolaski came on from the bullpen and struck out Joe Munoz before Henry Castillo lined a single to right, scoring Herum and Perez, increasing the Cougars' lead to 4-1.

Trever Allen picked up his second hit of the night, lining a single to left, with one out, in the bottom of the seventh. Runners were at the corners, thanks to a Trevor Gretzky single, when Tim Arakawa shot a ball to the left field line for a single, scoring Allen, pulling the Bees within a pair at 4-2. The Bees failed to tack on another, leaving the bases loaded.

Trever Allen started the bottom of the ninth inning, smacking a double to left. After Sam Koenig struckout swinging, Tim Arakawa walked, putting runners at the corners. Jake Yacinich grounded into a double play, ending the game as the Bees lost, 4-2.

Markus Solbach (7-2) earned the win for the Kane County Cougars while Jake Jewell (4-3) was charged with the loss. Kane County reliever, Zac Curtis (16) picked up the save. The Bees and the Cougars wrap up the series Wednesday night at 6:30. Austin Robichaux makes the start for the Bees against Kane County's Wei-Chieh-Huang.
