Steelheads Draft 12th and 72nd in 2015 CHL Import Draft

Mississauga, ON - With their two selections in the 2015 CHL Import Draft, the Mississauga Steelheads are proud to announce that they have selected forwards Alexander Nylander (12th overall) and Daniel Muzito-Bagenda (72nd overall).

Alexander Nylander was born March 2, 1998 in Calgary, AB and grew up in North America before his family moved back to Europe. Nylander recorded 40 points (15 goals, 25 assists) in forty-two games with AIK U-20 this past season. As a member of Team Sweden at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge in Sarnia & Lambton Shores, ON this past year, Nylander recorded two goals and five assists in six games en route to a bronze medal.

Alexander is the younger brother of the Steelheads' first-round pick in last year's CHL Import Draft, and Toronto Maple Leafs first round pick from the 2014 NHL Draft, William Nylander. Alexander is also the son of former NHL'er Michael Nylander.

Daniel Muzito - Bagenda hails from Umea, Sweden. In 2014-15, the 6'1, 198 lb winger recorded 35 points (10 goals, 25 assists) in thirty-seven games played with MODO U-20 in the SuperElit league. He was a member of Sweden's U-18 National team at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the 2014 IIHF World U-18 Championships.

The Mississauga Steelheads will open the 2015/2016 season at the Hershey Centre on Friday, September 25th at 7:30 pm against the Ottawa 67s.
