Red Deer Rebels Take Michael Spacek In The CHL Import Draft

RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced the selection of forward Michael Spacek in today's Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Spacek is an 18-year old who played with HC Dynamo Pardubice and participated in the World Junior Championships as well as the World Under-18 Championships last season. He is also a 4th round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 National Hockey League Draft.

Each team in the Canadian Hockey League (Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) is allowed two import (non-North American) players. Ivan Nikolishin, acquired from the Everett Silvertips during the offseason, is the Rebels other import player.
