Bullfrogs Look to Clinch Playoff Berth

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs are on the road today against the Wisconsin Woodchucks for a doubleheader on the final day of the season's first half.
The Bullfrogs are tied with the Kenosha Kingfish atop the Northwoods League South Division coming into today's slate of games. Green Bay plays at 12:05 p.m. and 6:30 tonight at Athletic Park in Wausau.
With a pair of wins today, the Bullfrogs will clinch a playoff berth and earn home field advantage in the one-game Divisional playoffs.
Green Bay will look for its seventh consecutive victory in Game 1 with Nathan Disch on the mound making his fifth start of the season. His last start came on June 24 in a 7-1 win against the Lakeshore Chinooks, and Disch allowed one run on five hits and struck out six.
Matt Smith starts for the Woodchucks today. He comes in with a 2-0 record and a 2.45 earned run average. Smith last played Green Bay on June 12 and pitched just two innings, allowing one run, one hit, two walks and struck out two batters.
The Bullfrogs have yet to name a starter for the second game, but Zach Stone will throw for Wisconsin. He has appeared in three games, but tonight will mark his first start of the season. Stone comes in with a 1.17 earned run average in 7 2/3 innings pitched with eight strikeouts and a save.
The Bullfrogs will return to Joannes Stadium on July 3 for a game against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at 7:05 p.m. with Post Game Fireworks presented by Pepsi.
