Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release
Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is scheduled to host Saint Louis FC at Legion Stadium on Wednesday, July 1 at 7:00 p.m. EDT for Military Night.
Saint Louis (3-5-5) previously claimed a 1-0 victory over Wilmington (2-8-5) in early May when the two teams first encountered on the pitch this season. Sam Fink scored the lone goal for Saint Louis off a corner kick with only minutes remaining in the match.
The Hammerheads players will take the field in distinctive, one-of-a-kind camouflage jerseys in support of the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA. These jerseys are up for bids online at www.wilmingtonhammerheads.com until Wednesday, July 8 with proceeds benefiting the Battleship's Generations Campaign to help raise money for restoration purposes. Fireworks are scheduled to follow the end of the match at Legion Stadium.
The Hammerheads enter Wednesday's match following a road trip to Canada last weekend against FC Montreal and Toronto FC II. Wilmington claimed their first full victory since April 12 on Thursday against Montreal. Brian Ackley scored on a header off a cross from Christian Bassogog late in the first half. After Montreal equalized in the second half, Will Heaney tallied his first goal of the season in stoppage time to give the Hammerheads a 2-1 victory.
Wilmington was unable to snag back-to-back victories before returning home as Toronto FC II's Jordan Hamilton scored the lone goal on Saturday to give his team the win they had been struggling to find over the last few matches.
Wednesday's match at Legion Stadium will be broadcast live on Wilmington Hammerheads FC's YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/WilmHammerheadsFC. Following this weekend's match, Wilmington is schedule to play the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday, July 4 at 7:00 p.m. EDT at Skyline Sports Complex.

Tickets to the match on July 1 are available online. All active and retired military personnel will receive admission to the match for $5 with proof of military identification. Military discounts are available through pre-sale only at the Wilmington Hammerheads FC front office or at the box office on game day.
