Marauders Bats Get Going Too Late

Bradenton, FL - The Marauders (3-2, 35-40) were held off the board for the first eight innings by Wei- Chung Wang (W, 5-2) and Brevard County (31-42) won 4-2 on Monday night at McKechnie Field. Wang struck out five and walked two over his career-best eight innings.

RHP Luis Heredia (L, 1-3) turned in his longest start of the season, pitching six innings without allowing an earned run. He held the Manatees to one hit over the first five innings, but two errors mixed with three hits led to a three-run sixth.

RF Harold Ramirez tripled home CF Austin Meadows to break up the potential shutout in the ninth.

Ramirez scored on a sacrifice fly by 1B Edwin Espinal later in the inning.

NOTES: The game began at 6:32 p.m. under partly clear skies, 89 degrees, and wind blowing 11 mph from left to right ... Luis Heredia's six innings was his longest start of the season ... Austin Meadows is 8- for-14 in the series ... Junior Lopez made his Bradenton debut and tossed a perfect top of the ninth inning with a strikeout.
