GTA Pro-Am: SmileWork Stays Undefeated, 3D Earns First Win

SmileWork vs. GTA Select

In the first game of the evening, the undefeated SmileWork team took on GTA Select in a battle for first place heading into the playoffs.

SmileWork was impressive out of the gate, scoring 29-12 early on. SmileWork continued to dominate with their uptemp offense, leading 40-27. Tyrone Watson had a great first half for SmileWork with 13 points, 2 assists and 7 rebounds. Shaquille Keith kept GTA Select afloat with 9 points at halftime.

The second half was a different story, as GTA Select locked down on defense while going on a hot run, slicing the deficit to two points with 9 minutes left in the game. SmileWork pushed hard to keep GTA Select at a distance. Tyrone Watson put the nail in the coffin with a breakaway fastbreak dunk with 16 seconds in the game to seal the 61-59 win, clinching first place heading into the playoffs. Tyrone Watson was the "OnPoint Performer of the Game" with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists.

Toronto 3D vs. Team Guerilla

The second game of the evening featured Team Guerilla against Toronto 3D, who were looking for their first win.

The two teams exchanged baskets early on, with neither gaining a clear advantage. With 5 minutes remaining in the first half, the game was tied at 26. 2015 NBLC Finals MVP and former Power player, Kirk Williamas Jr. had a strong first half with 11 points and 4 rebounds.Toronto 3D managed to pull slightly ahead with a 41-34 lead heading into halftime.

Heading into the second half, Devoe Joseph began to heat up, knocking down consecutive threes to extend the 3D lead. The game remaining competitive as Team Guerilla battled back to tie the game at 53 with ten minutes remaining in the game. Strong play in the paint from Tramar Sutherland helped Toronto 3D pull away with a 76-67 win. Sutherland was named the "OnPoint Performer of the Game" with 19 points, 4 assists, 4 steals and 6 rebounds.
