Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, Neb. - Behind another stellar outing from starter John Lamb, the Omaha Storm Chasers (40-36) snapped their four-game losing streak with a 4-0 win against the Round Rock Express (45-30). It was the fourth shutout of the season for the Storm Chasers.

Lamb became the first pitcher in the Pacific Coast League to eight wins as he tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out five. The eight wins for the left-hander matches his most wins at any stop in his career, and ties for his second most wins in a season overall. Lamb has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his 13 starts for Omaha this season, and with the five scoreless frames his ERA is down to 2.71 which is good for fifth best in the league.

Matt Fields accounted for three of the four runs for Omaha, getting the key hit in both of the Storm Chasers two-run rallies. He doubled home two runs in the second, which matched the Omaha offense's two runs total in the previous 32 innings, and led off the seventh with a double before coming around to score. Dusty Coleman had two hits and a RBI on the day, and has seven multi-hit games in his last 11 appearances.

The win not only snapped Omaha's four-game losing streak, but also stopped a six-game losing streak in the season series with Round Rock. The four runs on the day was as many runs as the Storm Chasers had during the four-game losing streak, and prevented Omaha from suffering their first three-game home losing streak of 2015.

Tomorrow Omaha will send out another Royals MLB Rehab pitcher with RHP Kris Medlen, and he will face off with Express RHP Anthony Ranaudo (7-2, 3.12 ERA). First pitch on 1180 Zone 2 The Deuce and MiLB.TV is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
