 Omaha Storm Chasers

Omaha's Losing Streak, Scoring Woes Continue

June 27, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers (39-36) lost their fourth straight game overall, and their sixth straight game against the Round Rock Express (45-29), as they dropped the second game of the series by a score of 5-1. The loss clinches that Omaha will not win a home series against the Express for the first time since mid-2013.

Round Rock jumped all over Omaha starter Aaron Brooks, and the Express used five first-inning singles and a wild pitch to put up four runs in the opening frame. Brooks came into the game without allowing more than three earned runs in any of his first 11 starts, the most starts in all of Triple-A without more than three earned runs. The right-hander did settle down four shutout innings to finish off his outing and had four strikeouts in the game, now ranking second in the PCL with 75 strikeouts.

The Storm Chasers offense continued their slump with only a first-inning run, driven in by Cheslor Cuthbert to tie him with Brett Eibner for the team lead at 33 RBI. Finishing the game with eight scoreless innings stretched Omaha's scoring woes to only two runs in their last 31 innings, and only four total runs in the four-game losing streak. The 5-1 loss was also the fifth time in the last six meetings with Round Rock that the Storm Chasers have been held to one run or less.

Omaha will look for their first win in the series as they send out wins leader LHP John Lamb (7-1, 2.91 ERA) to face off with Round Rock RHP Alec Asher (2-3, 4.37 ERA). First pitch on 1180 Zone 2 The Deuce and MiLB.TV is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
