June 25, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Norfolk Tides News Release
Major League Baseball today announced rosters for the 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, and Norfolk Tides RHP ZACH DAVIES has been selected to represent the United States in the event. The game will be played at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 12th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati and will be televised live on MLB Network.
Davies, 22, has gone 3-4 with a 2.94 ERA in 14 games (13 starts) for the Tides this season. His 2.94 ERA ranks 4th among Orioles minor leaguers and is 8th in the International League, and he's allowed three runs or fewer in 12 of his 14 appearances this year. Davies is currently the youngest player on the Tides roster and the 7th-youngest player in the International League.
Davies was selected by Baltimore in the 26th round of the 2011 draft out of Mesquite High School in Gilbert, AZ. He's rated as the #6 prospect in the Orioles system by Baseball America and as the #8 prospect in the O's organization by MLB.com.
Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League Clubs, selected the 25 players currently on each team. Each Major League organization is represented and players from all full-season Minor Leagues were eligible to participate.
Norfolk opens an eight-game homestand Friday, June 26 at Harbor Park with a 7:05 contest against the Toledo Mud Hens. Individual game tickets, season tickets and group tickets are currently available. For pricing and additional information, stop by the Harbor Park Box Office, visit norfolktides.com or call (757) 622-2222.
