Rouse Named Offensive Player of the Week

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers running back Robbie Rouse was named the Indoor Football League's Vidswap.com Offensive Player of the Week for Week 17, the League announced yesterday.

The Iowa Barnstormers ended their inaugural IFL season with a 38-32 victory over former AF2 rival, the Green Bay Blizzard. Robbie Rouse (5-6, 190, Fresno State), who has substantially impacted the Barnstormers offense in the second half of the season, scored the game-winning touchdown for Iowa with just 1:08 left in the fourth quarter. Rouse's final touchdown completed a Barnstormers comeback as the team trailed by eight points midway through the final quarter. Rouse finished the game with 17 rushes for 60 yards and three touchdowns while adding three catches for ten yards. Rouse finishes the season leading the Indoor Football League in rush attempts (153).

The Indoor Football League awarded defensive back Jamie Bender of the Green Bay Blizzard Offensive Player of the Week while Cedar Rapids kick returner Robert Brown earned Special Teams Player of the Week.
