Flint Firebirds News Release
Flint, Michigan - Firebirds Head Coach John Gruden announced today that Rich Tremblay has been hired as the club's full-time Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Tremblay, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), brings veteran knowledge to the Firebirds with 12 years of elite hockey training experience.
"Becoming a member of the Firebirds staff as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach is truly an honor and I'm eager to get started," said Rich. "The whole Firebirds staff understands that having a quality strength training program is essential in producing a championship team. I'm excited for the opportunity to do my part and help the organization reach that goal."
In addition to working with the Firebirds, Tremblay is the owner and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach of Athlete Strength and Performance (ASP), a 3,200 sq. ft. facility located just north of Detroit, Michigan. He is most recognized for training over 140 athletes at ASP that include more than 100 hockey players annually.
"We are excited to add Rich and his diverse background to the Flint Firebirds Hockey club," Gruden said. "Having a full-time strength and conditioning coach to work with our players is one of the most crucial aspects to the future success of our program and we couldn't be happier to have him on board."
Rich will be responsible for improving the team's overall strength and conditioning programs including the physical testing and evaluation at training camp, creation of individualized postseason workout programs and assistance in the rehabilitation efforts for all injured players.
Tremblay currently resides in Shelby Township with his wife Julie and their two daughters.
