Danville Dans News Release

DANVILLE, IL - Nick Rumbelow played on four different teams in the New York Yankees' farm system last season, working his way up from Class A Charleston to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The only move left was to the big club in the Bronx.

That move happened yesterday, when the Yankees called up Rumbelow from the RailRiders to help out in their bullpen. The Yankees are home for two games against the Phillies this week.

A member of the 2011 Danville Dans, Rumbelow was part of the Dans record draft in 2013. The Yankees selected the LSU junior in the 7th round. During 2011, Rumbelow struck out 60 in nine starts - including 14 K's against Hannibal on June 22 that year.

In the Yankees organization, though, the Bullard, TX native has been used exclusively in relief. This year for the Triple-A RailRiders, he's worked 35.1 innings in 25 games, with a 2-1 record along with seven saves. He's struck out 41 while walking just 7, and has a 3.31 ERA

"It's always a thrill to see another Dan get that call to the majors," said Dans managing partner Jeanie Cooke. "It shows that what the Dans team does here in helping the players develop their skills is paying off for them."

Rumbelow becomes the second Dans alum to get the call this year. Mikie Mahtook was called up by the Tampa Bay Rays in April.

A founding member of the Prospect League, one of the premier summer college leagues, the Dans continue their 28th season of wood-bat baseball this summer. More information about the Danville Dans, including upcoming home game schedule, is available online at www.DanvilleDans.com.
