Nuts Look to Make Push to Postseason in 2nd Half

The Nuts went 33-37 in the first half of the season finishing 3rd in the California League North Division. The squad looks to regroup for the second half and make the push to the postseason for the 9th time in franchise history. The first half results features four Nuts players in the California League's top 10 in hitting and pitching.
Jordan Patterson has emerged as the Nuts top hitter batting .314, slugging .568 with 36 extra-base hits, 10 of those being triples. He also has 6 home runs and 28 RBIs. Selected as a mid-season all-star, Patterson will be looking to maintain the consistency he has shown the entire season.
Also selected as a mid-season all-star, Raimel Tapia sits on the California Leaderboard batting .307 with 287 at-bats, 88 hits, 41 RBIs, and seven home runs. Tapia has proven his ability to get on base with an on-base percentage of .329 and is slugging .460 at the break.
Highly talented Antonio Senzatela sits in the number two spot for California League pitching with a 4-3 record in 13 starts. He has a California League best 1.02 WHIP and carries a 2.37 ERA. Senzatela was selected as an all-star but had to pull out due to injury. He looks to make a quick recovery.
Lefty starter Harrison Musgrave sits at the number three spot on the Leaderboard for the California League as well. Musgrave is tied for a league best eight wins. He owns a 3.10 ERA and has 66 strikeouts on the season.
Patterson, Tapia, and Ryan McMahon will team up with other California League All-Stars to take on the Carolina League All-Stars today at LoanMart Field in Rancho Cucamonga at 7:35 PM.
The Nuts will start the second half of California League play on the road in San Jose for a 4-game series and will return back to John Thurman Field to take on the Bakersfield Blaze on July 30th at 7:05 PM.
