Orlando City's President Phil Rawlins Listed Among Orlando's Most Powerful People

ORLANDO - June 23, 2015 - Orlando City SC Founder and President Phil Rawlins was named to OrlandoMagazine's Most Powerful People list for the third consecutive year, ranking 18th on this year's list.

"I'm honored to be named to OrlandoMagazine's Most Powerful People List," said Rawlins. "Being part of this community has been an invaluable gift to my family and I, as we enjoy everything Orlando has to offer. I am even more grateful for the support and dedication the whole city has shown the Club, staff and players - We thank you for that."

Since bringing the Lions to the City Beautiful five years ago, Rawlins has quickly become one of the most influential business leaders in Central Florida, notorious for spearheading the push to bring Major League Soccer (MLS) to Orlando.

As a result, in addition to being named to the Top 50 Most Powerful People list, Rawlins has also been inducted into USL's Hall of Fame, and earned accolades such as i4 Business Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year, Downtowner of the Year and was honored by MBA Orlando (LGBT Chamber of Commerce) as Community Champion in 2014.

While sitting at the helm of Orlando City, Rawlins has helped guide the Club to numerous milestones, including signing world superstar Kaká, obtaining over 14,000 season ticket members, an opening day attendance of 62,510 and securing a downtown soccer-specific stadium.

Rawlins also serves on the Board of Directors for CANVS, a non-profit technology and entrepreneurial co-working space located at the Church Street Exchange and is on the Board of the Central Florida Sports Commission.
