Wolves Acquire Pilon Twins

Sudbury Wolves News Release
The Sudbury Wolves acquired the rights to 16-year-old forwards Darian and Drake Pilon through OHL league entry waivers. The Pilon twins are from Sault Ste. Marie and played for the Batchawana Attack that won the Canadian International Hockey League championship last season. The boys have late birthdates and are not NHL draft eligible until 2017.
"We know there were a few OHL teams lined-up to claim these two young players, so, we are fortunate to secure their rights and give them an opportunity to play for the Sudbury Wolves" notes Wolves' President Blaine Smith
Their Batchawana coach and former NHL player and OHL coach Denny Lambert notes: "The Pilon boys were a treat to coach this season. They are skilled players that work extremely hard. They are no fun to play against at all. They love to hit. They aren't afraid and will do anything possible to get to the net. They finished one-two in league scoring for a reason."
Lambert adds, "These two kids remind me of Andrew Shaw of the Chicago Blackhawks. They are role players that are very determined and they have learned to play the game the right way. They hit hard and they are tough, really tough, but they also have good offensive skills. I think Coach Matsos and the Sudbury Wolves are going to be very happy that they acquired Drake and Darian Pilon."
Wolves' fans will have the opportunity to see the Pilon boys for the first time on September 3rd when main camp opens at the Sudbury Arena.
