June 21, 2015 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Mississauga Power News Release

SmileWork vs. Toronto 3D

The momentum of Week #1 continued into Week #2 at the "GTA Pro-Am Series". The first game featured undefeated SmileWork versus Toronto 3D. Team SmileWork got off to a fast start with great ball movement while 3D was just unable to get anything going. SmileWork on the other hand had no such problem as they went up 17-9 early.

At the half SmileWork secured a 36-23 lead due in part to high energy play from a pair of former New Mexico State standouts Tyrone Watson and Daniel Mullings. Toronto 3D showed resiliency and fought back with gritty defense but in the end the dynamic duo of Tyrone Watson and Daniel Mullings proved to be too much. Watson led SmileWork with 23 points and 5 rebounds while Mullings chipped in with 13 points. In the end SmileWork held on to a 76-62 win and improved to a 2-0 record. The "OnPoint Player of the Game" was Tyrone Watson of SmileWork.

GTA Select vs. Team Guerilla

The second game featured Team Guerilla versus the undefeated GTA Select. Team Guerilla started the game guns blazing to build a strong 17-9 lead. Thanks to lights out shooting from former NBA Detroit Pistons, Josh Bostic and sharpshooter Morgan Lewis, Team Guerilla led 30-19 at the half.

The second half was a different story as GTA Select came out of the half with a burst of energy, McMaster University's very own Aaron Redpath was the catalyst that pushed a good run by GTA Selects due to his great shooting and heads up defence. The feel good story of the day was the appearance of former Canadian men's national team captain Jesse Young who anchored the GTA Select defence allowing their offense to get them back in the game. With a minute left in the game, GTA Select brought it within 5 points on a Shaquille Keith "And 1" but Team Guerrila proved to be too tough as they closed the game out with key free throws to seal the game with a 63-57 win. Morgan Lewis was named the "OnPoint Player of the Game" with 11 points and 3 rebounds.
