June 21, 2015 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Everett AquaSox News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Hisashi Iwakuma pitched 3 2/3 innings of one-run ball and notched three strikeouts in a rehab start as the Everett AquaSox scored a 10-4 win over the Eugene Emeralds. Luis Liberato led the Frogs with three hits, a homer, a double and four RBIs.

Show up for the early start tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. when the AquaSox take on the Emeralds in the fourth game of this five-game series. The first 500 fathers receive a neck tie giveaway for Father's Day and some tickets are still available online at aquasox.com.

Iwakuma got through the first three innings without much trouble, before the Emeralds' Ian Happ led off the fourth. Happ took one of Iwakuma's pitches all the way over the right field fence to tie the game at one in the fourth. The veteran left-hander would make it through two outs before coming out of the game as part of his rehab of a back injury.

Liberato scored four runs, but his homer in the fourth, which also scored Drew Jackson, was what put the AquaSox in front for good.

Seattle Mariners top prospect Alex Jackson got his first hit in Northwest League action and went 1 for 4 with a walk, working the count each time he stepped into the batter's box.

Alex Jackson also scored after his hit, when Liberato doubled in the fifth to score Drew Jackson as well.

Every Everett player had at least one hit as the Frogs rallied for 16 hits. Troy Scott, Jose Santiago, Darin Gillies and Matt Clancy combined to pitch in relief of Iwakuma for just one earned run and three hits.

Game four of the five-game series starts at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Everett Memorial Stadium with a special Father's Day neck tie giveaway for the first 500 dads. Tickets are still available online at aquasox.com or at the front office, which is located at 3802 Broadway in Everett.
