ORLANDO - June 11, 2015 - The Orlando Predators added to an already potent offense on Wednesday by activating rookie wide receiver Courtney Gardner from the Arena Football League's "Other League Exempt" reserve list.
Gardner (6-3, 220, Sierra College) was a standout player at Sierra College in Rockin, California. In his final season at the school, he hauled in 61 receptions for 1,099 yards and 13 touchdowns. Gardner's success at the junior college level led to offers from countless FBS programs, including Florida State and the University of Florida.
Gardner committed to play football at the University of Oklahoma, but elected to forgo his collegiate eligibility and pursue a professional career prior to the start of the 2013 college season. He later signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent.
Gardner originally joined the Predators when he was added to the team's roster in November of this past offseason. However, he was placed on the AFL's "Other League Exempt" reserve list prior to the start of training camp after signing a contract with the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League in December. Gardner parted ways with the Lions in late May and now joins the Predators for his first season in the Arena Football League.
In a corresponding roster move, Orlando placed veteran defensive back Erick McIntosh on recallable reassignment.
