BUFFALO, NY (June 11, 2015) -- The Buffalo Bandits today announced the organization will enter three youth lacrosse teams into the third annual Jr. NLL Tournament in Oakville, Ontario, which runs from Aug. 28 to 30. Each team will hold two tryout sessions from July 6 to 8.

All three teams will be coached by current or former Bandits players and will participate in the NLL-sponsored tournament, which will be played using NLL rules. Age groups and coaches for the three teams are below:

- Pee Wee (born in 2003 or 2004) will be coached by Mitch Wilde and Kevin Brownell.

- Bantam (born in 2001 or 2002) will be coached by Dhane Smith and Ryan Benesch.

- Midget (born in 1999 or 2000) will be coached by Joe Smith, Jay Thorimbert and David Brock.

The tryout fee is $35 per player, but will be waived for any player who was on the Jr. Bandits last summer. Tryout sessions will take place at Buffalo River Works (369 Ganson St., Buffalo, N.Y.), and players who make each team will be notified by Friday, July 10. Tryout schedules are as follows:

- Pee Wee - July 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and July 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

- Bantam - July 6 from 8:30 to 10 p.m. and July 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

- Midget - July 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and July 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Each player that makes a team will be required to pay a team fee of $250 to cover the cost of the tournament and seven practices, which will take place once a week in July and August. With that registration fee, each player will also receive their Jr. Bandits uniform, four ticket vouchers for a 2016 regular-season Bandits home game, a 2015 Bandits yearbook, a 2015 team photo and an autographed player photo.

In addition, the teams will have a cookout during the Jr. NLL Tournament with food and drink provided by the Bandits and will also be recognized on the field during a 2016 regular-season Bandits home game.

Each team will consist of 18 runners and two goalies and will mostly be composed of players from Western New York, but may include some from Southern Ontario. Practices will take place at Buffalo River Works or First Niagara Center.
